Facts about smoking.

Cigarettes
Smoking tobacco is not only risky to your health it can be harmful to your future too. According to The World Health Organization (WHO):

"The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced, killing more than 8 million people a year, including around 1.2 million deaths from exposure to second-hand smoke ."
How does smoking cause lung cancer?

Commonly your lung's airways are covered with millions of tiny hair called cilia. The cilia act like little brooms protecting the air ducts by clearing dust, tar, and other unfamiliar substances slowly upward, like escalators, until they can be spit out.

Each moment a blast of tobacco smoke hits these cilia, however, they slow down, and soon stop moving. As a result, the trapped tars from the tobacco smoke begin boring into the cells of the air tubes. Over time, this chronic discomfort turns some of the cells cancerous.

This transformation takes many years. But once it begins, cancer steadily eats its way deeper into the lung. By the time it is discovered, it's usually too late.

The 2010 report of the Surgeon General in the United States, tells beyond a shadow of a doubt how tobacco smoke results in disease, verify earlier findings, and widens and enhances the science base. Equipped with this certain data, the moment has come to increase a full-scale battle against the tobacco epidemic.

Also, the report shows more than 1,000 people died every day from cigarettes, and one-half of all long-term smokers are killed by smoking-related diseases. A large percentage of these deaths are from early heart attacks, chronic lung diseases, and cancers. Every year, thousands of nonsmokers die from heart disease and lung cancer, and hundreds of thousands of children suffer from respiratory infections because of exposure to secondhand smoke.

Tobacco heightens vascular and cancer diseases.

Vascular diseases:
  • Heart attacks
  • Stroke
  • Peripheral vascular disease--about 90% of leg and thigh blockages occur in smokers.

Cancers:
  • Lung 85% because of smoking.
  • Bladder and kidney 3 times more frequent in smokers.
  • The mouth, larynx, and esophagus are 2-25 times more prevalent in smokers.
Pregnancy:
  • Smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of pregnancy difficulties.
Chronic  Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases(COPD):

  • Smoking, including during the teenage years, expands the risk of dying from COPD.
  • Tobacco kills up to half of its users.
  • Tobacco kills more than 8 million people every year.
  • Around 80% of the world's 1.1 billion smokers live in low and middle-income countries.

However, in the book "Nicotine and Other Tobacco Compounds in Neurodegenerative and Psychiatric Diseases: Overview of Epidemiological Data on Smoking and Preclinical and Clinical Data on Nicotine
describes the detailed connections between smoking and neurological disease and the bioactive compounds found in tobacco. It gives a thorough analysis of nicotine and other compounds found in tobacco plants, with scientific evidence of neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects that may function relatively with nicotine to put forth neuroprotective effects identified in smokers.

Relating findings beyond harmful cigarette smoke effects, awareness can be drawn to individual compounds of tobacco that may satisfy as insight for additional remedy advancement.

Ending Smoking Habit.

Firstly decide that you are going to change.
It's not reasonable just to want to change or imagine that you will change someday.
Breaking an addiction to tobacco needs constructive commitment.

Also, you can opt to reduce the effect and end the habit by using lemon or lime juice which is high in vitamin C or use black pepper oil as well as green tea.
  • Black pepper essential oil may lessen the harshness of cigarette cravings.
  • It's not understood clearly why lime juice may help with cravings. Researchers have pointed out that people who smoke normally have insufficient levels of vitamin C in their bodies which may increase cravings, and lime juice can restore vitamin C in the body.
  • Green tea is one of the herbal therapies most commonly used to control cravings. Green tea is also related to helping repair tissues that have been weakened by smoking.
